Kenya Online Radio
Radio.ke offers access to over 100 radio stations from across Kenya, available for live streaming 24/7. Stations are organized by city and genre, including news, gospel, pop, reggae, talk shows, sports, local languages, and more. The platform features a clean and modern interface optimized for both desktop and mobile devices.
Each station page includes a live stream, updated logo, and public information. Our dynamic ranking system automatically promotes the most listened-to stations to the top of the directory, based on listener data from the past 7 days.
We also process stream metadata to generate live playlists and top song charts for each station. If a station does not provide metadata, our mobile app includes built-in music recognition functionality (similar to Shazam).
About Radio Broadcasting in Kenya
Radio is one of the most widely used forms of media in Kenya, with a long history dating back to the 1920s. The first station, the Kenya Broadcasting Service (KBS), was established during British colonial rule. After independence in 1963, it evolved into the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), which remains a major public broadcaster today.
Kenya's media landscape is now highly diverse and liberalized, with hundreds of FM stations operating across the country. These include both public and private broadcasters, community radio, religious stations, and regional networks. Content is produced in English, Kiswahili, and many local languages to reflect Kenya's multicultural population.
The Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) is responsible for regulating radio broadcasting and frequency licensing.
Radio continues to play a vital role in Kenyan society — informing, educating, and entertaining millions of listeners every day, especially in rural areas where it remains the most accessible medium.
