Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- How can I add or update a radio station?
You can submit a request to add a new station or update existing information using the form below:
https://radio.ke/index.php?do=feedback - Why does the radio station stop playing after a few minutes?
If a station uses an HTTP stream, it is played through our custom script. This script is not perfect and has a limitation: it can only play for about 3–5 minutes continuously. After that, the stream needs to be restarted manually.
To avoid this issue, we recommend using HTTPS streams.
This problem does not occur in our mobile app. - How is the radio station ranking calculated?
The ranking is based on a simple formula: the more listeners a station has, the higher it will appear in the catalog. However, rankings are calculated based on listener data from the last 7 days. If a station becomes less active, it will gradually move down in the ranking. - How is the top songs list generated for each station?
We track how many times each song is played on a station. The more frequently a song is played, the higher it appears in the chart. This method typically highlights the latest and most popular songs being aired. - Why do some stations not have playlists?
Not all radio stations provide metadata with track information. Our system attempts to extract this data from the stream, but if it's unavailable, a playlist cannot be generated. However, most stations do provide metadata, so playlists are available for many of them.
